01The Challenge

Two decades of organic growth had left an international orthopaedic organisation with a website that served its internal structure rather than its members. Congress information, education and membership all competed for the same attention, and surgeons could rarely find what they came for.

02The Thinking

We started with the member year, not the org chart. Mapping how surgeons, fellows and national delegates actually engage across a congress cycle exposed a handful of genuinely important journeys — and a long tail of content that only mattered to a few people, at a specific moment.

03The Solution

A restructured information architecture, a flexible editorial design system and a platform the society can run itself. Congress, education and membership each gained their own clear route, supported by templates that hold up whether a page carries three paragraphs or three hundred.

04The Outcome

Members reach congress and membership information in a fraction of the steps, the internal team publishes without developer support, and the organisation has a digital home that reads as internationally credible.
